Dr. Dirk Schwede is passing on his international experience and expertise to the students as the new Professor of Energy and Building Technology at the Technical University of Lübeck.
At the end of 2007, Dr. Dirk Schwede and two colleagues founded the engineering office energydesign asia for energy-efficient and sustainable construction in Asia.
At the beginning of 2008, Dr. Schwede set up a branch in one of the largest cities in the world – Shanghai.
Meanwhile, as an internationally renowned expert in energy-efficient and sustainable construction, in 2013, 2016 and 2022, Dirk Schwede was appointed to the Commission for Sustainable Building of the German Federal Environment Agency (UBA KNBau) for three years each. There he was involved in several position papers in the subgroups "Energy Efficiency and Building Technology" and "Recycling-Friendly Building".
Since 2008, Dirk Schwede has been involved in several research projects of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research as an expert on energy-efficient, climate-friendly and sustainable buildings in Vietnam and Cambodia. In Germany, Dirk Schwede works as an energy consultant for existing buildings and larger building portfolios to achieve national and global climate protection goals in the building sector.
From 2012-2017, Dirk Schwede was Robert-Bosch Junior Professor of Sustainable Building at the University of Stuttgart and subsequently Research Group Leader for "System Integration and Sustainable Building" at the Institute of Building Energetics, Thermotechnology and Energy Storage.
